Born Halifax, England. 1962
I have drawn and painted most of my life. Before moving to Spain in 2004 my painting consisted of commissions and personal works that I produced during my working life as a professional photographer.
I studied oil painting part time at the Edinburgh College of Art before moving here with my family. Since settling in the mountains above Lake Viñuela Andalucía, I have had the opportunity to fulfil a lifetime ambition and become a full time artist.
These days my time is divided between teaching oil painting workshops, private portrait commissions and personal works for galleries and internet sales.
My influences in art come from studying the techniques of some of the great impressionists like John Singer Sargent, Joaquin Sorolla and Felix Revello de Toro. I have also done study courses with Zhauming Wu, Juliette Aristides and Casey Baugh.
Most of my works today sell privately, through local exhibitions and on line galleries.
